Day one

Fly from London Gatwick to Antalya. On arrival in Antalya, transfer by coach to Cavus Bay (approximately one and a half hours) and the Arkadas hotel.

Day two

After a welcome meeting, today will be a free day to relax and explore as you wish. This evening we will enjoy a boat tour of Cavus Bay with a welcome drink before dinner.

Day three

Full day tour to Arykanda. Ancient Arykanda was built on five terraces on a rocky mountain side. Although the oldest remains found on site date back to the fifth century BC, the ‘-anda’ ending of the city’s name suggests its origins are Lycian, making it about a millennia older. The site includes an Acropolis, a bath complex and the temple of Helios. After a trout lunch (included) at a local restaurant, we return via the ancient site of Limyra where, beside the road, the remains of the theatre and many 'house' style Lycian tombs are visible.

Day four

Full day boat trip to Sazak Bay. One of the most beautiful bays along this stretch of coastline, Sazak Bay is charmingly hidden amongst high mountains. A narrow passage between two capes leads to a sandy beach and a pine wooded shore. A picnic/barbeque lunch will be included.

Day five

Full day tour to Aspendos and Perge. Today we visit two major historic sites. Aspendos is noted for having one of the best preserved Roman theatres in the world. Perge is famous for its formidable theatre combining both Greek and Roman elements and the stadium which once hosted thousands of spectators and is still in good condition today.

Day six

Morning visit to Olympos. Another ancient Lycian city, Olympos was founded in the Hellenistic period, taking the name of the nearby mountain which inspired so much mythology. The ruins are dramatically overgrown and by following the paths that wind amongst them you will come out onto one of the Turkish Riviera’s most beautiful beaches.

Day seven

Full day tour to Antalya old city and the archaeological museum. Antalya is Turkey’s biggest seaside resort, but away from the beaches and hotels, the city’s historic walled centre is a mix of Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman architecture. The award winning Antalya Archaeological Museum has 13 exhibition halls and an open-air gallery and has 5000 artefacts displayed with a further 25,000 in storage.

Day eight

Today is a free day to relax and explore at your leisure.

Day nine

Optional Full day tour to Termessos national park and historic site. Ancient Termessos is perched high up on a rocky promontory with impressive views across the Pamphylian Plain. This Pisidian city is one of Turkey’s best preserved, and although there are no precise details as to its age, it’s referenced in Homer’s Iliad.

Day ten

Full day boat trip to Ceneviz Bay. Today is a day of relaxation in the gorgeous little bay of Caneviz. Swim in the clear waters, unwind on the boat decks and enjoy a picnic/barbeque lunch.

Day eleven

Full day tour to Myra, Kekova Island and Simena. Travelling to Ucagiz we will take a boat trip to see the remains of a sunken city along the shore of Kekova Island before visiting the picturesque village of Simena. This afternoon we will head to the ancient site of Myra with its extraordinary rock-cut Lycian tombs and well-preserved theatre.

Day twelve

Morning tour to Rhodiapolis with an afternoon at Kumluca market. A small city of Lycia, not much is known of the history of Rhodiapolis. At the site we will see the remains of an aqueduct, a theatre and a temple of Asclepius. This afternoon we will visit the local town of Kumluca for a look around its bustling local market.

Day thirteen

Full day tour to Phaselis. This small but very beautiful site is situated in forest and includes three harbours, a theatre and the substantial remains of an aqueduct which brought water to the city from a nearby spring. A trout lunch at Ulupinar is included.

Day fourteen

Today is a free day to relax and explore at your leisure.

Day fifteen

Transfer back to Antalya airport for the return flight to London Gatwick.

NB: Exact order of itinerary may vary according to local conditions and tour manager's discretion
