Boot camp, yoga, Pilates and fitness retreat

After being picked up at Alicante airport, you will be transferred to the luxury retreat where you’ll check into your private apartment, take your time to explore the complex, meet your fellow guests, or even take a swim in the lovely indoor or outdoor swimming pools. Every guest will be invited to attend an initial wellness consultation with Personal Trainer Claire to assess your current fitness level and health and to discuss individual’s aims and what you’d like to get out of the retreat. Unwind at the retreat once you have settled into your private apartment. In the evening, you will join your fellow guests in the private dining room for a healthy and delicious welcome meal and good company
Day 2-6 - yoga, Pilates and fitness classes
As part of the detox programme, all guests will be provided with ingredients to make a fresh cleansing drink of lemon and ginger first thing in the morning which you can prepare after waking up in your own private apartment. At 8am, you will start your 1 hour morning yoga session, to gently open and awaken your body and senses to the day. Breakfasts vary but usually there is a range of healthy options on offer throughout the week and these may consist of: oat or rice based cereal with soya or rice milk, natural soya yoghurt with banana and honey, ‘2 egg white, 1 egg yolk omelette’ and afterwards you will have a few hours to yourself to enjoy the complex facilities, relax in your apartment or by the pool, or go for a walk.
At about 12pm, you will join your fellow guests and your trainer to take a circuit or core stability class, which is normally held at the beach a short walk away or outside on one of the terraces but this is weather dependent. Your circuits class will challenge and improve your fitness level through fun circuit based activities. Around 1.30pm, enjoy a healthy and nutritious light lunch using the freshest local ingredients which are always, where possible organic, and will normally be a large mixed salad with buffalo sheep or goats cheese for example, using as many raw ingredients as possible to aid the detox process. You can take the afternoon to relax, take a swim or explore the magnificent surroundings, there may also be a coastal hike arranged which is a wonderful way to experience more of the local area and you’ll be joined by a local hiking guide who will share his knowledge about the flora, fauna and local area. Your Pilates or personal defence class begins at 5pm and instructor Nola will work with you in the private on site fully equipped gym to develop your core strength and conditioning. You will have free time for an hour or so after the class before joining fellow guests in the restaurant at around 7pm for dinner.
Dinner will be a healthy but tasty dish prepared fresh for you and always includes lots of vegetables to boost vitamin intake and aid the detox process. During the evenings there will be open and informal discussions on subjects such as nutrition, and how supplements can be used to combat illness and ageing, how to exercise without injury, simple strategies for coping with and reducing stress. The evening discussions are hosted by various people including the retreat doctor, nutritionist, and personal trainer, and this is based on availability and the speaker will be confirmed at the start of your retreat. You will have two guided evening meditation classes in the week which is deeply relaxing and ideal for a great night’s sleep, and more meditation classes may place if there is demand! All the activities, classes and discussions are optional and you are welcome to spend time on your own or explore the area instead of joining a particular activity
Day 7 - Departure day
You'll start the morning with breakfast and a final detox drink and enjoy a final view from your private terrace or balcony. Depending on the time of your transfer, you may want to enjoy a final swim, walk to the beach or just relax at the retreat before taking your transfer back to Alicante airport. Check out returning feeling relaxed, fitter, and healthier, refreshed with new skills and knowledge along with new friends and inspiration to continue your health and fitness practice at home.
