Day One
Leaving the local area in the early morning we'll journey to the rolling hills, ancient woodland and honey-coloured stone villages of the Cotswolds. We'll stop in delightful Bourton-on-the Water, with its attractive low bridges across the River Windrush, and in historic Stow-on-the-Wold with its impressive market square, before continuing to our hotel.
Day Two
After a full English breakfast, we'll visit the idyllic village of Lacock, the setting for countless productions including Cranford, Harry Potter and Pride and Prejudice. Don't miss Lacock Abbey (entrance payable locally) before we continue to Bath, arriving in time for lunch (payable locally). There'll be plenty of time to explore this delightful Georgian town with its restored Roman Baths, 15th Century Abbey and Royal Crescent - as well as abundance of charming shops.
Day Three
This morning we head to the National Arboretum at Westonbirt. One of the world's most spectacular collections of trees, this 600-acre sanctuary is home to plants from all over the world. During our guided walk, our guide will reveal the beauty and complexity of the trees, and provide a fascinating glimpse into the lives of the Holford family, who founded the Arboretum in the 19th Century. After time to explore at leisure we'll head for home, arriving back in the local area by early to mid evening.
