Day one

Make your way to Tilbury for embarkation and this afternoon's sailing.

Day two

Day three

Hardangerfjord stretches over 100 kilometres into the Norwegian interior, and this morning Marco Polo heads into its landscape. Discover a world where sheer, forested mountainsides plunge into still waters as Marco Polo heads to Eidfjord, from where you can take an excursion to the Voringfossen waterfalls.

Day four

Awake as Marco Polo cruises through the narrow fingers of Sognefjord, the world's largest and deepest fjord, to Flam in the remotest corner of the fjord. From here, you can board the Flamsbana mountain railway to witness the sheer beauty of the journey to Myrdal. Later this evening, enjoy another cruise through scenic Naeroyfjord.

Day five

Skjolden, in Lustrafjord, is Marco Polo's destination today. From here optional shore excursions may take you into the interior. Follow the ancient trading route of the Sognefjellsweg, or visit the Nigardsbreen glacier, an eastern section of the massive Jostedalsbreen ice-pack.

Day six

This morning Marco Polo docks in Bergen - an ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses, and birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.

Day seven

Today is spent at sea enjoying a last evening's entertainment on board.

Day eight

Marco Polo arrives back in Tilbury.
