Steeped in ancient legend and unique cultural heritage, the Black Forest region is a spectacular expanse of wooded mountains in Germany's southwest corner. This tour allows you to soak up the timeless atmosphere, exploring some of the Forest's fascinating old towns and charming lakeside resorts, as well as hopping over the border into Switzerland to visit illustrious Basel, the mighty Rheinfall and medieval Stein am Rhein. Staying in the traditional Black forest town of Uhlingen-Birkendorf at the rustic Hotel Sonnenhof and Sonnhalde, you will visit Freiburg, Lake Titisee, Konstanz, Lake Constance, Basel, Freudenstadt, Schiltach, the Black Forest Open Air Museum, cuckoo clock capital Triburg, the Rheinfall and Stein am Rhein.

Travel by Eurostar from St Pancras or Ebbsfleet to Paris and onwards by TGV to MulhouseOn arrival transfer under tour the direction of the tour manager to Uhlingen-Birkendorg (approx 1.5 hours) to check in for a 6-night stay on dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2
Full day in the Black Forest, visiting Freiburg and Lake Titisee.
Day 3
Full day tour to Konstanz and Lake Constance.
Day 4
Full day to Basel.
Day 5
Full day in the Black Forest, visiting Freudenstadt, Schiltach, the Black Forest Open Air Museum and Triburg.
Day 6
Full day to the Rheinfall and Stein am Rhein.

The 3-star Sonnenhof & Sonnhalde Hotel is set in a peaceful and idyllic location on the edge of the Black Forest town of Uhlingen-Birkendorf.
