Travel, by coach from your selected pick-up point, to join Olympia in Cologne, the spectacular Rhineland capital. Enjoy dinner and, time-permitting, step ashore to soak up some of the city, before Olympia sets sail up-river.
Awake as Olympia sails into the River Moselle. By early afternoon, Olympia arrives in pretty Cochem, nestled beneath the fairytale turrets of the Reichsburg castle, which can be explored on this afternoon's optional excursion. This evening, before dinner on board, take a stroll through Cochem's delightful streets, and enjoy an optional wine-tasting in one of the famous weinstuben.
Olympia slips away from Cochem this morning and cruise along the scenic Moselle, to medieval Bernkastel, linked to its 'twin' Kues by an ancient bridge that straddles the river. Enjoy an evening stroll through the delightful central square, surrounded by ancient, half-timbered houses, before dinner on board Olympia.
This morning enjoy an optional walking tour of Bernkastel with a local guide, and if you're feeling energetic, carry on to the ruins of the Burg Landshut castle just outside the town, to take in the spectacular view of the river. This afternoon, Olympia makes her way downstream to her overnight mooring in Alken.
Early this morning Olympia sails into the Middle Rhine, heading through the narrow gorge beneath the fabled Lorelei, the legendary rock where sirens were said to have lured sailors to their fate. Step ashore to explore Rudesheim's narrow streets - the most celebrated of which, the Drosselgasse, is lined with bars and weinstuben (wine taverns), before perhaps joining our optional excursion to see the quirky wonders of Siegfried's Musikal Kabinett. After dinner this evening, enjoy the 'Rhine in Flames' spectacular. A parade of illuminated craft and a fireworks display light up the river's banks, transforming the night sky in a blaze of colour.
This morning Olympia sails back through the breathtaking gorge and on to Boppard, the 'Pearl of the Rhine'. Step ashore to discover the idyllic wine-producing town's great Roman fort and beautiful historic quarter. The evening is spent moored alongside, and you can enjoy dinner and entertainment on board.
Our included walking tour this morning introduces you to Koblenz, where the rivers' meeting point is marked by the Deutsche Eck, or 'German Corner'. This afternoon, Olympia cruises to the ancient Rhine town of Andernach where there will be time to explore. Enjoy a final 'Captain's Dinner' on board this evening as the ship makes her way downstream to Cologne.
Disembark in Cologne this morning, where you'll begin your return journey to the UK.
Modern, well-equipped Olympia offers all you could wish to ensure that you enjoy every moment of your Rhine cruise. Offering accommodation and dining facilities for just under a hundred passengers, the ship has a warm, intimate feeling about her the minute you step on board.
