Day One
Make your way to Hull for embarkation and Discovery's late afternoon sailing.
Day Two
The day is spent at sea before Discovery arrives in Brunsbuttel, early this evening, to begin her transit of the Kiel Canal.
Day Three
This morning Discovery arrives in Warnemunde, gateway to the city of Rostock. The city retains much of its medieval charm, but for many the main attraction of this stop will be our optional excursion to Berlin. Stroll from the arch of the Brandenburg Gate down Unter den Linden to explore the former East German sector; browse the shops on the 'Ku'damm'; and take in the various remnants of 20th Century conflict - from Hitler's Bunker to Checkpoint Charlie.
Day Four
Spend today at sea, perhaps learning a new skill from an expert in one of the 'Super Craft' sessions, which will take place throughout the voyage.
Day Five
Step ashore this afternoon to explore the wonderful port of Helsinki, where the City Hall overlooks the fresh fish stalls and historic, covered Market Hall in Market Square. Stroll through Esplanade Park, and take in the panoramic views of the city and the sea beyond from the Cathedral tower. Don't miss stunning Senate Square, whose great neo-Classical buildings doubled for Moscow's in many a Cold War movie.
Days Six-Seven
Perhaps the highlight of the cruise, Discovery will spend two days in St Petersburg, one of the world's most glorious cities. Explore its incomparable Hermitage Museum, stroll down its wide canal-side boulevards, and soak up the modern 'European' atmosphere. You'll have the chance to explore the city's Haymarket, still redolent with scenes from Dostoyevsky's novels, to gaze in awe at the opulence of the Marinsky Theatre, home to the world renowned Kirov Ballet, and to visit the fabled Summer Palace at Petrodvorets.
Day Eight
Almost impossibly beautiful, the Estonian capital Tallinn, with its enchanting and virtually pristine Old Town, is one of Europe's most scenic cities. Discover this timeless gem, with its winding cobbled streets of storybook houses, spectacular steepled churches, ancient buildings and Toompea Castle.
Day Nine
Be on deck early this morning for the stunning passage past the myriad islands that surround the Swedish capital, Stockholm. The city itself is built across 14 such islets, and is best explored on foot. One third water, one third city and one third green landscape, Stockholm offers a wonderful mix of historic sights, labyrinthine cobbled streets and fine parks.
Day Ten
Today is spent at sea.
Day Eleven
Today Discovery docks in "wonderful, wonderful" Copenhagen. Stroll the stylish streets, or enjoy an excursion taking in the famous sights including the famous bronze statuette of the 'Little Mermaid'. Watch the world go by from a harbour-side bar in Nyhavn, and don't miss the sculpted walkways of the world-famous Tivoli Gardens.
Day Twelve
A final day is spent at sea, reliving memories of the past few days.
Day Thirteen
Discovery arrives back in Hull at the end of a wonderful Baltic adventure.

MV Discovery
In 2013, 20,000-tonne Discovery sets out on a series of exciting departures from ports around the UK, on her first season of cruises. With her classic profile, eight passenger decks, and accommodation for 700 passengers, Discovery is a smaller ship built in traditional style, and offers the perfect 'home from home' for a memorable holiday.
