Fly to Cork airport, meet your tour manager and transfer west to Glengarriff and your hotel (transfer time approximately two hours). After checking in, and depending on the time of your flight, you're free to spend the rest of the day exploring the village.
Discover the wild and remote Beara peninsula on this morning's excursion. Tiny islets dot the water, while the fishing port of Castletownbere and views from the road that winds westwards add to the appeal. This afternoon, enjoy Glengarriff and its surroundings, perhaps taking a boat across to Garinish Island.
Today you'll explore West Cork. Visit Kinsale, in its setting at the mouth of the Bandon river, and enjoy gourmet treats at one of the many quayside cafes. You'll also visit Clonakilty, birthplace of Irish hero Michael Collins, and historic, bustling regional centre Skibbereen, as well as journeying along the Atlantic coastline.
Travel north from Glengarriff into County Kerry, where the Killarney national park is home to lakeland scenery overlooked by Macgillycuddy's Reeks. See Lakes Leane, Muckross and Upper, explore Killarney town with its great St Mary's cathedral, and visit Muckross House - one of Ireland's stately homes - and its ancient friary.
Our final excursion is to the 'Ring of Kerry', the lakes and mountains of the Iveragh peninsula. You'll cross the Coomakista Pass, with its views of the Kenmare river, catch sight of Macgillycuddy's Reeks from Molls Gap, and explore places like Waterville and Cahersiveen, before returning to the hotel.
Bid farewell to Glengarriff, boarding the coach for the transfer back to Cork Airport and your flight home.
The grand and exclusive Eccles Hotel, the very first hotel in County Cork (founded in 1745) is located in the centre of Glengarriff. Marvel at the incredible panoramic views that the hotel provides across Glengarriff Bay and the historic Garnish Island. The journey time from Cork to the hotel is approximately three hours, while the transfer from the hotel to Reen Pier for the marine excursions takes around 50 minutes.
The hotel has a formal restaurant, and a bar serving snacks.Recently refurbished, the bedrooms have a delightful, up-to-date feel, and all have en-suite facilities.
