Day 1
Tashkent Early arrival in Tashkent and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon guided city tour of Tashkent.

Day 2
Tashkent - Urgench - Khiva Fly to Urgench, close to Khiva. In the afternoon enjoy a walking tour of this unique medieval walled city. Wander through the maze of twisting alleyways, and visit the mosques, minarets, Emir's Palace and Harem. (B)

Day 3
Khiva - Konye Urgench - Ashgabat Leaving Uzbekistan cross the border and head for the town of Konye Urgench in Turkmenistan. Visit with your guide Turangeb Khanum Mausoleum, Kutlug Emir Minaret - the tallest in Central Asia - Tash Kala Caravanserai and the Ak Kala Fortress before flying to Ashgabat. (B)

Day 4
Ashgabat Today discover this remote desert city on your guided tour. Visit the Arch of Neutrality - a 75m high monument, topped by a revolving 12 metre golden statue of the previous Turkmen president, Turkmenbashi. Other highlights include the statue of Lenin, the National Museum, the Mosque of Spirituality and the city's parks. (B)

Day 5
Ashgabat - Merv Drive to Nisa, the capital of the Parthians, and a flourishing city in the 3rd century BC. Continue overland passing small villages to Merv and stay in Mary, located in a large oasis basin of the Kara Kum Desert in southeast Turkmenistan. (B)

Day 6
Merv Drive to the splendid archaeological site of Merv, once Central Asia's most civilised city and known as the Pearl of the East. Visit the History Museum, Sultan Sanjar Mausoleum and Kys Kala, an unusual windowless castle nicknamed “The House of Maidens Tears”. (B)

Day 7
Merv - Bukhara Journey north crossing the border into Uzbekistan, arriving in Bukhara, once an important staging post on the Silk Road. (B)

Day 8
Bukhara A full day tour through the narrow streets of old Bukhara. Visit the Ark Citadel, former residence of the Emirs of Bukhara. Continue to Bolo-Khauz Mosque and Kalyan Square with its great minaret and the Ismael Samani Mausoleum dating from the 10th century. (B)

Day 9
Bukhara - Shakhrisabz - Samarkand Drive to Shakhrisabz, Tamerlaine's birthplace. Enjoy fantastic views from the portal of Tamerlaine's Ak- Sarai Palace and visit his mausoleum. Continue to Samarkand and overnight. (B)

Day 10
Samarkand The history of this fabled Silk Road city dates back over 2000 years. Visit Tamerlaine's Tomb and Registan Square, a masterpiece of Islamic architecture with blue tiled madrassahs on three sides. Also see Ulugbek's observatory, the Shah-i-Zinada complex and the Bibi Khanum Mosque, built by Tamerlaine for his Chinese wife. (B)

Day 11
Samarkand - Tashkent Drive through the cotton plantations to Tashkent airport to take your onward flight. (B)
