Experience the natural wonder of Niagara Falls, visit Quebec - one of North America's oldest cities - and fly to 'cowboy town' Calgary. Day one

Fly to Toronto and transfer to your hotel.

Day two

Explore Toronto this morning on our optional, guided city sightseeing tour.

Day three

Today's included excursion is to the Niagara Falls, one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Take in the views on an optional 10 minute helicopter ride, and perhaps join us for lunch with a view at The Sheraton on the Falls Penthouse Fallsview dining room. Later, we'll return to Toronto to spend the evening at one of its restaurants.

Day four

This morning we follow the 'Maple Leaf Trail' to Ottawa. Explore the Victorian houses and famous Rideau canal before continuing to the French Canadian province of Quebec, and to Montreal, Canada's second city. Enjoy a two night stay in the country's undisputed centre of style and sophistication.

Day five

Take an included full day trip to Quebec City, one of Canada's oldest settlements. Visit Chateau Frontenac, and the city's ancient ramparts and UNESCO-listed centre, overlooking the St Lawrence river.

Day six

Transfer to the airport to board the flight for the journey across the Prairies and the Lakes to the oil-and-cowboy town of Calgary, home to the legendary 'Stampede', before continuing to Banff for a two night stay.

Day seven

Explore the bustling capital of the Rockies. Join our optional sightseeing tour, which begins with an cable-car ride to the top of Sulphur mountain and ends at Surprise Corner, famous for the views across the Bow river to the Banff Springs hotel.You may also like to take our optional helicopter ride and discover the high mountain peaks, alpine meadows and pristine lakes of your surroundings from the air.

Day eight

Head deep into the Rockies to Lake Louise. See at the lake's setting, against the backdrop of Victoria glacier, before continuing your scenic odyssey along the Icefields Parkway to Jasper, set in the national park of the same name.

Day nine

You'll continue through the mountains today, passing the tallest peak in the Rockies, Mount Robson, before arriving in the mountain resort of Sun Peaks for the night.

Day 10

Today you'll head west through mountain scenery to Vancouver, which lies on the western edge of Canada between the Pacific Ocean and the snow-capped Coast mountains.

Day 11

Spend today exploring Vancouver, or join our optional full-day excursion to Vancouver Island, and to the unashamedly 'British' capital of British Columbia - Victoria. See the Parliament Buildings and the Empress hotel, and visit the Butchart gardens, a 50-acre horticultural Mecca on the edge of the Pacific.

Day 12

After a morning left free for last-minute shopping or simple relaxation we'll head to the airport to board the flight home.

Day 13

Arrive back home, after an overnight flight.

Best of Canada Touring Hotels

The hotels used on our tours will meet the standard of a good, three- and four-star European hotel. Rooms will have private bathrooms, telephones and TV. The vast majority will also have tea- and coffee-making facilities. There will always be a bar or restaurant on site or nearby.
