Day Two
Spend today at sea cruising northeast and enjoying the excellent facilities on board Ocean Countess.
Day Three
This morning Ocean Countess docks in Bergen - an ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses, and birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.
Day Four
This morning, Ocean Countess arrives in picturesquely Romsdalfjord. Join our shore excursion at Andalsnes, and see the spectacular scenery of the region, including the vertiginous Trollstigen (Troll's Ladder) a breathtaking road at the head of the Valldal valley. From Andalsnes, there may be a chance to visit the famous wooden Rodven stave church in its dreamy setting beside the fjord.
Day Five
Geirangerfjord is one of the smallest, but most beautiful of the fjords, its twists and turns marked by crashing waterfalls and ancient and beguiling villages. Disembark at Geiranger itself to take in the beauty of it all, or to enjoy an excursion inland.
Day Six
Our final port of call is the Shetland capital of Lerwick. This rugged, enchanting town is gateway to a land of ancient legend, traditional crafts and an incredible abundance of bird-life. Wander the town, or join the excursion to the 3,000-year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof, with its Bronze and Iron Age remains.
Day Seven
You final full day's cruise aboard Ocean Countess is spent at sea, sailing south towards home.
Day Eight
Return, this morning, to Greenock, at the end of a wonderful summertime cruise.
