Discovery sails from Greenock late this afternoon.
Spend today at sea cruising northeast and enjoying the excellent facilities on board Discovery.
Our first port of call is the Shetland capital of Lerwick. This rugged, enchanting town is gateway to a land of ancient legend, traditional crafts and an incredible abundance of bird-life. Wander the town, or join the excursion to the 3,000-year-old archaeological site at Jarlshof, with its Bronze and Iron Age remains.
Geirangerfjord is one of the smallest but most beautiful fjords, its twists and turns marked by crashing waterfalls and ancient and beguiling villages such as Hellesylt and Geiranger. Disembark at Hellesylt to enjoy an unforgettable overland excursion through the glorious scenery of the fjord and its surroundings.
Today, Discovery arrives in picturesque Romsdalfjord. Join our shore excursion at Andalsnes, and see the spectacular scenery of the region, including the vertiginous Trollstigen (Troll's Ladder) a breathtaking road at the head of the Valldal valley. From Andalsnes, there may be a chance to visit the famous wooden Rodven stave church in its dreamy setting beside the fjord.
This morning Discovery docks in Bergen - an ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses, and birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.
Your final full day's cruise aboard Discovery is spent at sea, sailing south and home.
This morning we return to Greenock, at the end of a wonderful summertime cruise.
In 2013, 20,000-tonne Discovery sets out on a series of exciting departures from ports around the UK, on her first season of cruises. With her classic profile, eight passenger decks, and accommodation for 700 passengers, Discovery is a smaller ship built in traditional style, and offers the perfect 'home from home' for a memorable holiday.
