Day One
Ocean Countess sails from Greenock late this afternoon.
Days Two and Three
Spend your first two full days at sea cruising south and enjoying the excellent facilities on board Ocean Countess.
Day Four
Today's landfall is at Leixoes, the gateway to historic Oporto, in its picture-postcard setting on the River Douro. Our shore excursion here will include a visit to one of the Port wine lodges and time for sightseeing, which may include a cruise along the Douro, before you return to the ship to continue your voyage south.
Day Five
Another day is spent at sea, cruising towards the 'Garden Isle'.
Day Six
Madeira is one of the world's most beautiful islands. This sun-blessed, lush, green sub-tropical paradise, is home to one of the most vibrant and profound collections of exotic, colourful, flora on Earth. The verdant island capital, Funchal, is a perfect, relaxing, captivating port of call. Don't miss the exhilaration of a wickerwork 'toboggan' ride from Monte to Livramento!
Day Seven
One of the world's most beautiful and least known islands, La Palma, waits to greet Ocean Countess this afternoon. Step ashore to see the central mountain, rising nearly 8,000 feet from the coast, and the main town Santa Cruz - gateway to a rugged countryside dominated by the towering peak.
Day Eight
Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands, and today Ocean Countess ties up at the principal port, Santa Cruz. This unforgettable island offers 'the whole world in one day' - from the chance to swim in warm waters to throwing snowballs on the slopes of Mt Teide, Spain's highest peak. A range of optional shore excursions will be offered to enable you to make the most of your stay, before we set sail in the late evening.
Days Nine and 10
Ocean Countess turns for home, spending two more relaxing days at sea during which you can enjoy all the pleasures of summertime cruising.
Day 11
Early this morning Ocean Countess makes her way into the stunning natural harbour of Ria de Vigo. A historic fishing port, Vigo bustles with life, especially in the cobbled streets of the old town, where the day's catch is laid out on granite tables, and cafes serve strong coffee to arriving fishermen - and cruise holidaymakers.
Days 12 and 13
Our final two full days are spent at sea, enjoying all the amenities of Ocean Countess as she cruises homeward.
Day 14
Ocean Countess arrives back in Greenock, at the end of a wonderful cruise holiday.
