Monet & the Impressionists in Normandy

Normandy is synonymous with the Impressionist movement, thanks largely to Monet's involvement in and love of the area.

This wonderful short lecture tour, based in Rouen, visits his house and garden in Giverny as well as a host of other places associated with Impressionism in the area including Rouen's superb Musee des Beaux Arts, the Boudin Museum at Honfleur and the Parc de Bois des Moutiers near Dieppe, all in the incomparable company of Dr. Anne Anderson whose knowledge and enthusiasm will enlighten and entertain.

From May to September the Musee des Beaux Arts in Rouen is hosting an Impressionist exhibition - La Couleur Reflechie, Impressionnism and the Water's Surface - which will display works by Renoir, Manet, Cezanne, Van Gogh and the highlight of the exhibition The Waterlilles by Claude Monet. The exhibition will host one hundred paintings, a rich collection of photographs and drawings by famous Impressionist artists which aim to unveil the vast aesthetic challenge of the Modern reflection. You will get to visit this exhibition on the August dates only.
