Three Choirs festival
The Three Choirs Festival began in the early 18th century, rotating between the three great cathedral cities of Gloucester, Worcester and Hereford. One of the world's oldest classical choral music festivals it has long been established as a firm fixture in the British music calendar and a must for lovers of the great choral works. This year the festival will be in Hereford.

Arrive independently at Hilton Puckrup Hall from 15.00. This evening there will be a welcome reception, private dinner with wine and talk by Jeremy Wilding, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Three Choirs Society. Jeremy became involved with the Three Choirs when he was a cathedral chorister at Hereford in the 1970s and went on to become Chairman of the Hereford festival.
This morning we visit the famous Mappa Mundi and Chain Library at Hereford Cathedral before taking your seats for the opening service of the festival. After lunch (not included) we go to Holy Trinity Hall where we will enjoy another concert including Roderick Williams. After an early dinner at the hotel, we return to Hereford Cathedral to hear Elgar - Dream of Gerontius featuring the Hereford Philharmonia, conductor Geraint Bowen and angel Sarah Connolly.
Morning guided walking tour of the ancient market town of Ledbury, where you will have free time for lunch (not included). This afternoon we will enjoy another concert in St Peters of Reicha and Barber with Wind Quintet and Summer Music. Return to the hotel for approximately 16.30.
Optional extra night (extra supplement)
For those wishing to stay an extra night there will be an early evening dinner followed by a performance of Wagner - Prelude and Liebestod; and Messiaen - Turangalila with the Hereford Philharmonia, conductor Jac Van Steen, piano Steven Osborne. Breakfast will be included the following morning and you will be able to depart at your leisure.
