Day one

Fly to Vancouver. After meeting your tour manager and transferring to your hotel you'll be free to explore.

Day two

Spend a free morning exploring or perhaps searching out souvenirs, before you board your ship for a late-afternoon sailing into the Inside Passage and the wilderness State of Alaska, and settle into your stateroom - your home for the next seven nights.

Day three

As we cruise north, through the Inside Passage, you can relax and enjoy the ship's vast range of facilities and dining opportunities.

Day four

Today we'll make an afternoon and evening call at the Alaskan capital Juneau, in its setting at the foot of the mountains from which the Mendenhall glacier flows. Optional shore excursions today will include tours and activities such as kayaking or dogsledding.

Day five

Enjoy a full day at Skagway, northernmost point of the cruise and our last stop before the Yukon. Part of the setting for Jack London's iconic book 'The Call of the Wild', Skagway is still a pioneering town of honky-tonk saloons and Klondike memorabilia.

Day six

Today we'll take a cruise into Glacier Bay. Marvel at the ever-changing glacial seascape of this renowned UNESCO Heritage site where the silence is punctuated by the thunderous sound of ice splitting, in great chunks, into the water.

Day seven

The colourful town of Ketchikan, its wooden houses built over the water, is the last port of call. You will have the opportunity to join the optional shore excursion to the remote Misty Fjords National Monument, a vast wilderness reserve where some of Alaska's most spectacular scenery can be found.

Day eight

Enjoy a last day at sea as we cruise back south along the Inside Passage and the east coast of Vancouver Island.

Day nine

Our cruise ends today in the city of Vancouver. On an optional guided tour, you'll discover restored Gastown, the kaleidoscopic thoroughfares of Chinatown, and the glass and steel wonders of the Burrard Inlet waterfront. You'll also be able to explore the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park and ascend Grouse mountain by cable-car for views over the city.

Day 10

Join an optional tour, sailing through the Gulf Islands to Vancouver Island where you'll visit Victoria, the colonial Provincial capital set around the Inner Harbour, as well as the Butchart Gardens.

Day 11

Spend your day further exploring Victoria, recently rated one of the most enjoyable places in the world to live.

Day 12

Head into Coastal Ranges towards the mountain resort of Sun Peaks and your first overnight stay.

Day 13

Your journey east continues, past Mount Robson - the highest point in the Rockies - to Jasper, in scenic Jasper national park.

Day 14

Today we'll travel the Icefields Parkway - a journey through the heart of the Rockies. As we continue to Banff, we'll call at Lake Louise, where turquoise waters - frozen for much of the year - are set against the backdrop of the Victoria glacier.

Day 15

Join the optional guided tour this morning and explore Banff. Take in Surprise Corner for views of the Banff Springs hotel and venture to the summit of Sulphur mountain by cable-car. In the afternoon, perhaps join our helicopter flight over the mountains.

Day 16

A last day free in Banff to explore further or do some last-minute shopping.

Day 17

Today we head to Calgary, home to the famous 'Stampede', where you'll check in for your flight home.

Day 18

Arrive back in the UK.
