Cruise Highlights
Luxor
Originally built on the site of ancient Thebes over 4,000 years ago. Luxor is home to over a third of the worlds greatest antiquities. From the breathtaking tombs of the Valley of the Kings and Queens and the Colossi of Memnon on the West Bank to the magnificent temples of Luxor and Karnak which were originally connected by an avenue of Sphinxes. Edfu Edfu is home to one of the largest best-preserved Ptolemaic temples in the whole of Egypt and is dedicated to the falcon-headed god Horus.
Kom Ombo
The temple of Kom Ombo is unusual in that it is dedicated to two gods - Sobek the crocodile-headed god and Haroeris, the falcon-headed sky god and is located in a spectacular setting on a hill overlooking the Nile, it is also home to a number of mummified crocodiles. Aswan Aswan is Egypt's southernmost city and one of her most beautiful, sitting alongside some of the best stretches of the Nile and dotted with beautiful islands, with high desert hills as a dramatic backdrop. Here you will find the Aswan High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Old Granite Quarries. The best way to see Aswan is from a felucca, a traditional Egyptian sail boat and a trip around Kitchener’s Island is not to be missed.
Philae
The Temple of Philae occupies a picturesque location on a pretty island and is dedicated to the goddess Isis Abu Simbel Egypt’s greatest ancient treasure after the Pyramids, two temples built by Ramses II, one featuring four colossal statues of the Pharoah, the other in honour of his wife Nefetari.

I travelled with a friend on a Nile Cruise aboard the Viking Princess. It was the first time in Egypt for both of us.
We found the staff extremely helpful and friendly, the food was very good and our tour guide was absolutely fantastic. His amazing knowledge, passion and enthusiasm absolutely made the holiday for us. I would certainly book again through Discover Egypt – from start to finish, we were looked after.
