The American arrivals process
Most British Citizens travelling to the USA do not need a visa but must register online with US Immigration at least 72 hours before departure. A charge of $14US applies. We will send you the details, along with your tickets, about two weeks prior to travel. Any persons who have a criminal record or have ever been arrested, even if not charged, cannot use this process and must apply for a visa
Day One
Fly to Atlanta, and transfer to your overnight hotel in Chattanooga.
Day Two
After a brief tour of Chattanooga, continue your journey to Nashville, for a one-night stay in the world capital of Country Music. While here you may like to join our optional excursion to the Opry Mills retail mall.
Day Three
Today's optional excursions introduces you to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the legendary Studio B, the starting point for more popular hits than any other recording studio in the USA. Later we'll head to Memphis. Soak up the atmosphere of this musically blessed city, and perhaps dine on famous Beale Street.
Day Four
Don't miss today's optional full day Memphis Sounds excursion, which will include a visit to legendary Sun Studio, the recording birthplace of legends such as Elvis Presley and BB King, and - most unforgettable of all - the most famous southern 'mansion' of all, 'Graceland'.
Day Five
Today you'll head through the Mississippi Delta of the fabled bluesmen to Tupelo. Here you might wish to visit the tiny house that was Elvis's birthplace before we continue to the great city of New Orleans for a two-night stay. Enjoy the perfect introduction to this vibrant city on our optional evening excursion - a New Orleans by Night with Jazz tour.
Day Six
This morning's optional guided city tour introduces the 'Big Easy'. Don't miss the time-warped, iron-balconied buildings of the French Quarter, centred on Jackson Square. This afternoon, join our optional Bayou and Alligators excursion for a glimpse of the city's surrounding country and wildlife. In the evening, head back to the 'Quarter', and immerse yourself in the incomparable atmosphere of the place which gave the world jazz music a century ago, and where the legacy of Louis Armstrong and 'King' Oliver lives on in innumerable bars, clubs and even street corners. Our optional excursion aboard the Steamboat 'Natchez' offers the chance to enjoy a cruise down the Mississippi as the renowned 'Dukes of Dixieland' play.
Day Seven
Today we join 'Carnival Elation' for our five-night cruise to Mexico. Settle in, explore the ship's facilities and perhaps think about upgrading yourself to an outside cabin - the difference is small for a fabulous ocean view.
