Day Three
Hardangerfjord stretches over 100 kilometres into the Norwegian interior, and this morning Marco Polo heads into its stunning landscape. Discover a world where sheer, forested mountainsides plunge into still waters as Marco Polo heads to Eidfjord, from where you can take an excursion to the towering Voringfossen waterfalls.
Day Four
Today's call brings the opportunity to take an unforgettable excursion to the famous Briksdal Glacier, part of the vast mass of the Josterdalsbreen ice-pack, which broods over the fjord.
Day Five
Marco Polo cruises further north along the stunning Norwegian coast.
Day Six
Rising up out of the sea like miniature Alps, the wild and beautiful Lofoten Islands' tiny fishing villages (with even tinier names, such as "A") shelter beneath towering peaks, cliffs and rock formations. Marco Polo calls at Leknes, nestled at the foot of stunning, Alpine-like scenery, and there'll be an opportunity to explore this most beautiful corner of the world on an overland excursion. This evening, in the long-evening light, we'll cruise through the Inside Passage, passing the stunning scenery of Solbergfjord, Gisund and Grotsund.
Day Seven
Marco Polo arrives today at remote Alta. Sky-gaze at your leisure (the Northern Lights are usually at their most astounding here), and explore the Arctic region of Finnmark, home to the Sami people, the prehistoric rock carvings at Hjemmeluft and the famous Ice Hotel, on one of our exciting optional excursions.
Day Eight
Perhaps the highpoint of the cruise will come this evening, as Marco Polo docks in pretty Honningsvaag, and you can make your way on an optional excursion to the famous visitor centre at Nordkapp, or North Cape, very nearly Europe's most northerly point. You'll return to the ship, passing Knivskjellodden, Europe's true north tip, before Marco Polo turns south once more on her Norwegian coastal voyage.
Day Nine
The largest settlement beyond the Arctic Circle, Tromso, with its magnificent cathedral rising grandly from its bustling centre, is our port of call this afternoon. Step ashore to explore its daily market and fascinating Polarmuseum, which chronicles the lives and exploits of the likes of Amundsen and Nansen.
Day Ten
The modern, friendly port and ski-resort of Narvik welcomes Marco Polo today, with the opportunity, on an optional excursion, to catch the cable car to the heights of Fagernesfjellet mountain for some truly spectacular views.
Day Eleven
Today is spent at sea, enjoying life on board, as Marco Polo steams back across the Arctic Circle, heading south.
Day Twelve
Cruise into beautiful Romsdalsfjord for the opportunity to enjoy another shore excursion, through some of Norway's most spectacular scenery. There may be a chance to visit the famous Rodven stave church in its dreamy setting, before Marco Polo cruises on through Romsdalsfjord.
Day Thirteen
This morning Marco Polo docks in Bergen - an ancient Hanseatic city of cobbled streets and medieval houses, and birthplace of composer Edvard Grieg. Visit the vibrant harbour and fish market, stroll past the wooden warehouses of Bryggen and take the Floibanen funicular to the summit of 'Mount' Floyen.
Day Fourteen
At sea, reliving the memories of a wonderful holiday.
Day Fifteen
Marco Polo arrives back in Tilbury at the end of the cruise.
