You will see the old law courts and the Church of the Holy Blood, where some of Jesus’s blood is said to have been preserved. You can also visit Notre Dame, which houses Michelangelo’s Madonna and Child, and later traditional brewery, where you learn about the brewing process and sample the finished product. The afternoon is then free to explore as you wish.

Day three

In the late morning visit some of the places made famous during the first world war, including Ypres, the centre of British activity during those turbulent times and home of the Menin Gate. You then visit Hill 62 with its preserved trenches and Sanctuary Wood, during a fascinating yet poignant afternoon.

Day four

This morning you visit a traditional chocolate maker and sample some of their creations, a coach will later return you to nearby Lille to take an afternoon Eurostar service back to London St Pancras.

My partner, mother and I recently went on a tour to Bruges by Eurostar departing St Pancras. We wanted to say that we felt the guide Bernadette was outstanding and her knowledge and the way she could convey this really made the tour special, many thanks indeed.

I have just returned from 4 days in Bruges and wanted to thank you for the excellent service which we received both before we went and on the tour. Our guide Robin was excellent and we will certainly be using Riviera again. I have already recommended you to my sister. Many thanks. Jan Spalding
