Today is free for you to rest and relax at leisure, either enjoying the facilities of the hotel, or perhaps venturing into the centre of delightful Cefalu. Dominated by the craggy outcrop of 'La Rocca', Cefalu offers much of interest, by day and by evening, when the locals take to the streets for their daily passeggiata.
Today we'll visit Sicily's capital, Palermo. Founded by the Phoenicians, and later home to Carthaginian, Greek and Norman conquerors, the city offers a glimpse of the entire history of Southern Italy in one place. Discover its secrets - the Cattedrale, the Palazzo dei Normanni and the Benedictine monastery at Monreale - on a day that mixes guided visits with opportunities to relax or explore at leisure.
Another day to spend at leisure at the hotel or exploring the surrounding area.
Join us to explore the moon-like landscape of fabled Mount Etna, Europe's highest active volcano. After a chance to take in the stunning views of the snow-capped peak, we'll visit exquisite Taormina, on the slopes of Monte Tauro. See the town's medieval palazzi, stroll the flower-strewn piazzi and visit the monumental Teatro Greco.
Another day to enjoy the surrounds of the hotel and Cefalu.
Explore one of the Mediterranean's most important archeological sites as we journey to the medieval town of Agrigento. Here, the great temples - of Hera Lacinia, Concordia, Heracles, Olympian Zeus, the Dioscuri and Hephaistos - give a vivid impression of the ancient world, as their crumbling, but still magnificent, columns and portals are brought to life by our guide.
Transfer back to the airport for check-in and your flight home.
