Day One
Fly to Edinburgh where you will be met by our Tour Manager - someone whose love of the Highlands will help you make the most of your holiday. Stopping en route in popular Pitlochry, the journey to your hotel in Carrbridge takes about three hours. After check-in, the rest of the afternoon is free for you to relax or explore before dinner at the hotel.
Day Two
Today's tour takes us over the Grampian Mountains to the breathtaking beauty of Royal Deeside and Balmoral. Explore Balmoral's gardens and exhibitions, and see the Castle Ballroom's fine collection of silver, china, many paintings, and its uniform and highland dress display. Afterwards there will be a chance to see the famous Crathie Church before moving on to the popular resort of Braemar. From here we visit Ballater, before heading back to the hotel for dinner.
Day Three
Discover Loch Ness on today's visit. Travelling via Spean Bridge and Fort Augustus, you'll travel along the Loch shore to Drumnadrochit, where you may like to visit the Loch Ness 2000 exhibition or to take a short cruise to view the Loch's abundant wildlife. The day ends with a visit to the thriving city of Inverness.
Day Four
Ancient Cawdor Castle was immortalised by Shakespeare in 'Macbeth' - step over the drawbridge to enter a different world. The late sixth Earl Cawdor's fascinating (and often very funny) guide notes can be found in each room. The gardens, with their vast herbaceous borders, are also worth exploring. We return to the hotel in the late afternoon, stopping en route in Grantown on Spey. Dating back to the 1760s, this traditional Highland town boasts many historic buildings, fine Georgian and Victorian architecture and an impressive tree-lined square.
Day Five
Transfer back to Edinburgh for your flight home. Depending on your flight time, there may be time to explore this beautiful city before you head to the airport.
